Conference
We hold a conference every two years on an important theme in children's literature. We've talked about scary books with Jane Yolen, humor with Simms Taback and Philip Pullman. We've listened to editors from A.A. Knopf, Harcourt, and Holiday House, librarians from Brooklyn to Buffalo. See our Calendar page for upcoming conferences.

Newsletter
We publish periodic newsletters, filled with program information, news, curriculum tips and themed book lists.

Studio Tours
Come with us to visit illustrators in their workshops and see how they work their magic.

Book Discussions
Join in lively conversation with colleagues from other professions, and get different perspectives on books such as Maniac Magee, Red Scarf Girl, The Giver.

Field Trips for Grown Ups!
Why let kids have all the fun? We organize bus trips to events or venues of interest to children's book lovers, such as the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art, or the Arbuthnot Lecture.

Teas
Meet your colleagues in an informal setting to discuss the year's award-winning books or current hot button issues in the world of children's literature.

Workshops
Develop your writing or illustrating skillls with professionals, or wet your toes for the first time.

Special Events
We stage special programs such as our four-month-long "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" exhibit at the Albany International Airport Gallery, featuring text and images of transportation from books by regional children's authors and illustrators, as well as lectures and workshops keyed to the show.
